Mountain lodges and their restaurants
The new lift tentatively is planned between the Sunset and Agassiz lifts at the resort. Officials also are considering another lift at the resort further in the future.
Snowbowl also is contemplating upgrades to the mountain lodges and their restaurants, as well as another lift, though the location and scope of that work is yet to be determined, he said.
Coleman's purchase also includes the Ski Lift Lodge and Cabins and adjoining restaurant at the lower elevation of Snowbowl at the turnoff on Highway 180.
Coleman has been managing partner at Sipapu for 15 years. His commercial real-estate and private-equity investments have turned increasingly toward ski areas this year. This month, his group took over operations at another New Mexico resort, Pajarito Mountain Ski Area outside of Santa Fe.
"Skiing is my first priority and, like many of our guests, I'm always eager to get the winter season started," Coleman said in a prepared statement. "I'm committed not only to opening these mountains (Snowbowl and Purgatory) early but also creating an exceptional experience for skiers and snowboarders — be it local or destination resort guests — while making each of these ski areas the most family-friendly, family-fun resorts in the Southwest and the best value in the nation."
Combined, the four mountains include 3,088 acres of terrain, 26 lifts and more than 200 trails.
